This project will construct a borehole and install a hand pumping machine. It will provide access to portable water, improve health and socioeconomic power. Thus increasing productivity for 300 villagers in Akinyele local government area of Oyo state.
Lack of access to portable water is a threat to health and socioeconomic activities of the villagers. The villagers survive with water from gullies and pot holes leading to series of infections and diseases. Also, the villagers are engaged in oil palm production, which needs a consistent water supply. Meanwhile, lack of portable water has led to low production in terms of quality and quantity.
Construction of a borehole with maintainance free hand pumping machine will provide access to portable water to improve health. Also, water will be available in a quantity that will enhance high productivity, thus improving socioeconomic power.
There will be a reduced spending on treatment of diseases due to consumption of dirty water. There will also be an increase production and reduced wastages of raw materials due to lack of water for processing.
