Annual Art Children’s Event Report
On 29th November 2025, we successfully held our Annual Art Children’s Event at YMCA Moi Southlake, near Hell’s Gate, Naivasha. The event brought together children, caregivers, volunteers, and visitors from different parts of the country for a vibrant day of creativity, learning, and celebration.
The event attracted participants from over 15 children’s homes drawn from Naivasha and Nakuru counties, as well as visitors from across Kenya who came to support and celebrate the children. The atmosphere throughout the day was filled with excitement, joy, and a strong sense of community.
The children actively participated in a wide range of activities designed to encourage self-expression, confidence, and talent development. These activities included modern dance performances, poetry recitals, singing, and karate demonstrations. Each performance showcased the children’s creativity, discipline, and courage, and was met with enthusiastic applause from the audience.
Beyond entertainment, the event also served as an important learning and skill-building opportunity. Children, guardians, visitors, and volunteers were introduced to new creative techniques, most notably coffee painting. This unique art form sparked great interest and excitement, as participants learned how to create beautiful artworks using coffee instead of conventional paints and brushes. For many, this was their first experience with alternative and sustainable art materials, making it both educational and inspiring.
The coffee painting sessions encouraged creativity, innovation, and environmental awareness, while also showing the children that art can be created using locally available and affordable materials. This activity was one of the highlights of the day and left a lasting impression on all who participated.
Overall, the Annual Art Children’s Event was more than just a fun day out—it was a meaningful platform for talent discovery, creative expression, learning, and community bonding. The smiles, laughter, and confidence displayed by the children reflected the positive impact of the event. It was truly a memorable and transformative day for everyone involved, and one that reaffirmed our commitment to nurturing creativity and hope among vulnerable children.
