By Othieno Gerald | Project Leader
Women in rural areas of Uganda continue to face overwhelming barriers to economic independence. Limited access to vocational training, financial services, productive resources, and employment opportunities leaves many families trapped in poverty. Single mothers and caregivers of orphaned children struggle the most as climate-related crop failures and unemployment reduce household incomes. This project will equip vulnerable women with entrepreneurship training, savings group participation, business mentorship, and start-up livelihood support to establish sustainable income-generating activities. With increased earnings, women will provide nutritious food, quality healthcare, and education for their children while building stronger, more resilient households. By empowering women with the tools to succeed, this project will reduce poverty, stimulate local economic growth, and create lasting opportunities that transform families and entire communities.
