The Sewing Centre in Chak # 356 Gojra is running successfully for the women and young girls, who are working at the brick kilns and as domestic workers to support their parents. Few of the unskilled and uneducated girls, who aren’t working anywhere, have also joined the center. This sewing center is enabling these women to attain training and raise the income for their families and also to pay back the loan which have been taken by their families from the brick kilns and farm owners.
Many of the girls from the previous batch used their sewing skill to overcome the financial problems of their families. The teacher of the Sewing Centre is extremely punctual and committed. She has introduced new stitching ideas and modern designs so that the students should move with current trends. One of the students Abida says “I completed my stitching course from SHD sewing center and after that I started taking orders from my neighborhood. Now I am earning a good profit and have been helping my husband to support our family. I thank SHD for showing me the way to move forward”.
