New Year, New Puberty Classes
By Jenni Lipa | President and Foiunder of CCDO
Anatomy Class
It's that time of the year when we begin our 6 week course of Puberty Classes. The students embrace the knowledge of learning about the changes they are going through, both emotionally and physiclly.
Our classes were developed in 2013 by an English volunteer and they have been refined over the years. We added, "Grow and Know your Body" books a few years ago. The result has been almost no teen pregnancies and well adjusted teenagers without the usual dramas. True, there are no trips to "The Mall" to set off the usual desires.
There is something to be said about the simple life without all the other distractions and wants versus needs. The boys respect the girls and vice - versa. Education is the key to success and these teenagers are content to study.
Thanks to all the donors who keep this program going.

Girls Blossom with Confidence
By Jenni Lipa | CCDO President and Founder
Confidence Prayers
Testing the girls confidence and having them pass with full colors is always a great achievement to see. September is the month where the girls are rewarded with a local trip to see some of their own heritage. Our scholarship students ( with a few male classmates) experience a local countryside trip to a temple and a magical mountain. Always good to see smiling faces who appreciate the smaller things in life: a simple picnic with sandwiches and climbing the Kulen Mountain. Swimming in waters that help dispel any bad vibes. This trip, most kids around the world, take for granted, however it is a special treat for our Cambodian kids that study 7 days a week. Seeing them blossom with confidence makes it all worthwhile.
Thanks to the donors that make this happen.

Confidence Abounds
By Jenni Lipa | President and Founder of CCDO
Class of 2020
June is my personal favorite month as I experience first hand and see the progress of all our programs on the ground. I interview our potentiontial future scholarship students from Grade 9. After careful consideration of many essays and then interviews, we narrow down the the selection to a handful of aspiring students. It is always gratifying to see that the girls are first and foremeost in the group.
I am also priviledged to spend time with our current scholarship students who are in Grades 10- though 12 and at university. I see that they have blossomed and are a lot more confident. They have found their niche and love what they are doing. The eager bright smiles as they explain their love of numbers or marketing is my pay-back for the past 12 years of philathropic work.
CCDO is producing a bevy of young aspiring Cambodians, who are ready to take on the world and make it a better place for themselves and their communities.
Bravo to them and you, the donors, who make this magic happen.
