Overview
At Junior Achievement (JA) Africa, we believe that when girls are equipped with the right skills, mentorship, and opportunities, they become powerful drivers of economic growth and social transformation.
The 10 Million African Girls (10MAG) campaign is a long-term initiative designed to expand access to entrepreneurship education, digital skills, leadership training, and economic opportunities for girls across Africa.
Through this campaign, JA Africa aims to equip 10 million girls by 2035 with the tools they need to thrive as innovators, entrepreneurs, and leaders in their communities.
This report highlights progress made through the campaign and the impact made possible by supporters like you.
What Your Support Made Possible
With support from our community of donors and partners, we continue to expand opportunities for girls to access leadership training, mentorship, and real-world entrepreneurial experiences.
Recent activities supported through the campaign include:
• Leadership and entrepreneurship training for girls across multiple African countries
• Participation in the Girls LEAD Camp, an intensive leadership development program bringing together promising young women from across the continent
• Mentorship and coaching through the 10MAG community network
• Exposure to entrepreneurship and innovation through the JA Company Program
• Support for girls to develop social impact projects addressing community challenges
These programs are helping young women build confidence, leadership capability, and the practical skills needed to pursue education, careers, and entrepreneurship.
Impact So Far
Through the campaign and its related programs, girls are gaining access to transformative opportunities.
Recent milestones include:
• 61 young women from 8 African countries participated in the 2026 Girls LEAD Camp in Accra, Ghana
• Participants were formally inducted into the 10MAG Community, a growing network of future female leaders across Africa
• Girls developed community-based social impact projects focused on education, sustainability, and economic empowerment
• Hundreds of girls continue to benefit from mentorship, training, and exposure through JA Africa’s network of partners and programs
The campaign is steadily building a pipeline of confident, capable young women ready to lead across sectors.
A Story of Transformation
For many girls, programs under the 10MAG campaign represent their first exposure to leadership development and entrepreneurial learning.
Participants consistently report increased confidence, stronger communication skills, and a greater belief in their ability to shape their own futures.
Through immersive programs like Girls LEAD Camp, participants engage in leadership workshops, mentorship sessions with global leaders, and hands-on problem-solving activities designed to prepare them for the opportunities and challenges of the future.
As one participant shared:
"LEAD Camp showed me that my voice matters and that I can be a leader who creates solutions for my community."
Why This Work Matters
Across Africa, girls continue to face barriers to education, leadership opportunities, and economic participation.
According to the United Nations and the World Bank, investing in girls’ education and leadership development significantly improves economic outcomes, community wellbeing, and long-term development.
By equipping girls with entrepreneurial skills, leadership training, and access to mentorship networks, the 10MAG campaign helps unlock the immense potential of Africa’s next generation of female leaders.
What Comes Next
JA Africa is continuing to expand the reach of the 10MAG campaign across the continent.
Upcoming priorities include:
• Expanding Girls LEAD Camp to reach more countries
• Supporting girls to launch and scale social impact projects
• Increasing access to digital and entrepreneurship education
• Strengthening the 10MAG alumni network to support long-term mentorship and opportunity pathways
With continued support, we can move closer to our goal of empowering 10 million African girls to thrive.
