Your donation went into fund “Emergency Response to Typhoon Faxai and Hagibis”.
<Disaster Summary>
Typhoon Faxai made landfall near the city of Chiba in the morning of September. 9th.2020.
The death toll was 1, more than 260 were insured, 342 houses were completely destroyed, and more than 70,000 houses were partially destroyed. Also, approximately 930,000 households experienced temporary power outage and nearly 140,000 had water outage.
About a month later, another strong typhoon brought tremendous damages to several cities in eastern and northern Japan. The death toll from “Tyhoon Hagibis” was more than 100 and nearly 400 people insured. 3,308 houses were completely destroyed, more than 67,000 houses were partially destroyed, over 520,000 households experienced power outage and nearly 170,000 had water outage. People in Chiba had both typhoons hit, and Nagano prefecture was the one of the hardest hit areas by Hagibis. Many people are still suffering from aftermath from these 2 disasters in Japan.
<Our Activities>
Japan Platform is a consortium of Japan-based humanitarian NGOs raising funds and providing grants, advocacy and capacity-building support to enhance the impact and relevance of emergency assistance delivered by our 40NGO members.

Critical goods supply
Visiting & supporting home evacuees
Medical and sanitation support
Child (and mother) protection
Special support on vulnerable people (persons with disabilities)
Mental health care
Community rebuilding
Hose repairs (especially roof repairs)
Networking support of related stakeholders (volunteers, non-profits, local governments,etc.)
