No One Down Relief Organization (NODRO), in partnership with regional authorities and local actors, aims to deliver emergency shelter, household items (NFIs), cash assistance, and WASH support to 1,169,050 internally displaced people (IDPs) in Ethiopia. This life-saving program targets conflict, drought and flood victims across Oromia, Amhara, Tigray, and Somali regions.
Ethiopia faces a dual crisis of conflict and climate disasters. Over 3.5 million people are displaced due to violence in Oromia, Amhara, and Tigray. Floods in Somali Region have contaminated water, destroyed crops, and spread disease. Women and children lack shelter, food, and clean water-leading to 30% child malnutrition, 5,000+ cholera cases, and rising gender-based violence. Urgent support is needed.
This project delivers urgent aid to 10,000+ families through life-saving support: 5,000 NFI kits (blankets, cookware), 5,000 emergency shelters, cash assistance ($120 for 3 months), and critical WASH services-rehabilitating wells, building latrines, and providing hygiene kits. It restores dignity, prevents disease, and empowers families to meet their own urgent needs.
In the short term, 20,000 families gain shelter, 300,000 access clean water, and 10,000 households achieve financial stability. Long-term, we expect a 30% drop in child malnutrition, 40% fewer waterborne diseases, and 50% rise in school re-enrollment. Cash support will help launch 500 women-led businesses, reducing aid dependency and strengthening community resilience.
