July 2025 Update to DANA help

By Conor Hannah | Project Lead

The Unseen Aftermath: How We Continue to Serve Valencia - July 2025

In the immediate chaos of the devastating floods that struck Valencia in October 2024, Fundación Ayuda Una Familia became a frontline force, providing urgent aid to countless families displaced and distressed by the disaster. While the floodwaters have receded and the news cycle has moved on, the struggle for many in our community is far from over. For this reason, our mission continues with unwavering dedication.

Every single day, our volunteers and staff at Fundación Ayuda Una Familia work tirelessly to prepare and deliver 500 warm, nutritious meals to those who remain caught in the flood's lingering aftermath. This daily effort is a lifeline for the most vulnerable members of the affected areas, ensuring they have at least one reliable, comforting meal to depend on.

Our focus is on individuals for whom recovery is a steep, uphill battle. This includes:

  • The Elderly: Many senior citizens, who may live alone or have mobility issues, lost not only their belongings but also their support networks. A delivered meal is not just sustenance; it is a moment of human connection and a crucial wellness check.

  • Families Who Lost Everything: We serve families who saw their homes, possessions, and main sources of income washed away. For a parent trying to navigate insurance claims, find new work, and care for their children, the simple gift of a prepared meal relieves an immense daily burden.

The 500 meals we provide are more than just food. They represent hope, stability, and the powerful message that our community has not forgotten them. They are a promise that on the long and arduous road to recovery, no one will be left behind.

We are able to sustain this critical operation solely through the compassion and generosity of people like you. Your ongoing donations are the fuel for our kitchen and the heart of our mission. Every contribution, no matter the size, directly translates into another meal, another day of relief, and another step forward for a family in need.

Join us in rebuilding not just homes, but lives. Your support ensures that the spirit of solidarity that shone so brightly during the flood continues to light the way for Valencia's recovery.
