Feed 107 malnourished children in Madagascar

The first update and set of pictures is from Tamatave:

This is Stephan, one year, he can now walk thanks to the energy of him eating plumpy. He started eating it in May. (Pictured above)

The boy in red pants is Mano (pictured below), his dad's job is to carry people lagages on the street. His mom stays home, they live in Antsirabe.  He is 4 years old, a weak and tiny boy. But he has eaten plumpy since May and is doing better! 

The next updates are from Antananarivo: 

The first picture (number 3 below) is Anjara who was hospitalized, the bishopric of their ward wanted us to give this boy plumpy who so weak and skinny. A month later in the photo, he could walk and play.

Thank you to Randriamia for giving us these updates on the kids!  She will be going back to Antananarivo in September and Antisrabe and Tamatave in October for the second rounds of screening all the kids to check their progress!

We have almost reached our project goal for kids in Madagascar- and are so grateful to you for your support!  In the past three months we have been able to purchase and distribute Plumpy'Nut to kids (a high calorie, micronutrient filled supplement), conduct a second round of screenings, and help a mother in a unique situation of need. 
First, I'd like to tell you about one of the most touching things we've experienced this past month. Our coordinator learned of a mother with a 2 month old baby she could no longer breast feed due to being hospitalized for congenital heart disease. Her name is Hasimbola. 

She couldn't safely breastfeed because of the medicine she is taking and because the doctors told her to keep the baby away from the sickness of the hospital. So the grandmother had to buy milk for the child. But powdered milk was too expensive for them, so they have resorted to the cheapest milk available: sweetened condensed milk. The baby wasn't dealing with it well but they couldn't afford anything else.  

When our coordinator found out about this situation, she requested permission to purchase formula, to which we readily agreed. (Normally, Liahona only purchases supplements for the mothers of babies under age 6 months to encourage breastfeeding when possible).   The cost of formula is approximately $1 a day. This mother and family was beyond grateful for the help provided to her baby.  
Second, a few days ago we completed our second round of screenings in Madagascar! We haven't anazlyed the data yet, but will let you know of the progress children have made thanks to your help as soon as we can!  We wanted to provide you with some photos from the screening.  Manda, our coordinator, took the photos and said "These are photos of Tamatave screening, the two boys eating the plumpy couldn't wait to have a bite and they call the plumpy by yughurt."
