Dear Friends,
Greetings and thank you very much for your support to our project to provide water, sanitation and hygiene support to communities affected by the El Nino. The rains has started already and previously dry mountain springs has water flowing already. As long as the rains will continue the springs are good sources of water for local communities. Our technique is to construct a small reservoir where the springs are located and install polyethylene hose that will carry the water to where the communities are located. This reporting period we are planning to install 1 water system in barrio San Juan, Sergio Osmena municipality. The water system will serve a total of 123 households who previously are dependent upon rainwater for their needs. This is indeed a big boost for their sanitation, hygiene and food production needs. We closely cooperate with the local government unit of the municipality for this initiative and we are also asking a small local foundation for assistance.
Again, thank you very much for your kind help.
Very sincerely yours,
Cora
