Distributing bath soap
Dear Friends,
Warmest greetings and thank you very much for your generous support to our project providing water, sanitation and hygiene support for those affected by severe drought. Experts tell us that the Philippines is one of the countries that is prone to be impacted by severe effects caused by climate change and we think that this is very true. We are visited by so many natural calamities every year sometimes we lost count. When these happens, the hygiene situation especially of women and girls are very problematic. This reporting period and with the help of a generous partner in China, we were able to distribute bath soap to 200 women and girls including the elderly.
Hoping for your continuing support.
Very sincerely yours,
Cora

Inspection of a rainwater harvester
Dear Friend,
Warm greetings and thank you very much for your continuing generous support to our project providing water, sanitation and hygiene materials and capacity-building support to those affected by long and severe drought conditions. This reporting period, the El Nino weather phenomenon is in full swing and thousands are affected. Water sources especially in hilly and mountainous areas are getting scarce and our rainwater harvesters have no water at all. With this situation, we used this opportunity in order to inspect the integrity of the rainwater harvesters that we have constructed already. So far, in our inspections we found out that all of our harvesters are working properly with a few needing cleaning and with the spouts needing small repairs.
Hoping for your continuing support to our initiative.
Very sincerely yours,
Cora

Dear Friend,
Warm greetings and thank you very much for your generous support to our project supporting those affected by severe dry season with water, sanitation and hygiene initiatives. This project period, we focused our support in the villages where Subanen Indigenous People are living in the mountains of Zamboanga del Norte. The situation of open defecation in the area is very high and the people are very poor and seldom would be able to afford a latrine. The incidence of fecal-borne diseases are very high and this is very problematic especially for children. Mortality of children in this area is very high with diarrhea occurring most often. This reporting period, and with the help of the local government, we are able to construct a total of 45 latrines and conduct information drive among the inhabitants. Coupled with the construction of the latrines, we also did community-led total sanitation training with those whom we provided witht the latrines.
Hoping for your continuing support to our initiative.
Very sincerely yours,
Cora
