Your gift will help us to fulfil our commitment to empowering women and girls worldwide with education through scholarships, training programmes and mentoring. We work with 21 women-led local partners to create solutions to the issues affecting women and girls' access to education, breaking the cycle of poverty. Last year, we supported 8,265 women and girls in 19 countries through our work. Help us increase our impact next year! Is there a better time to give the gift of education?
Millions of women and girls globally are denied access to quality education. Victims of poverty and traditional gender biases, 65 million girls and young women are kept out of the classroom, and millions more are in school but barely learning. Those who go to school, often following major financial sacrifices from family members, often find that their job options are no different than if they had never studied. They don't have the soft or technical skills that local employers are looking for.
We work with women-led partners to implement long-term solutions to the issues affecting women and girls' access to education, breaking the cycle of poverty. Whether it is by developing mentoring programmes and safe spaces or providing vocational training, we tailor our education projects to the local context and the needs of women and girls in the community. In practice, this means giving women and girls the training and support they need to complete their education and fulfil their potential.
The positive impact of educating women and girls is far-reaching and can be felt throughout the whole community. Educating a woman improves her wellbeing and that of her family, and gives her the chance to earn a better, more secure income. As her confidence grows she is able to lead at work and in her community. Since 2012, we have worked with 37 partners and projects in 20 countries around the world, supporting 50,757 women and girls through education and mentoring.
