Radio Meraj was designed to educate all people within its broadcast area and to help them improve their lives through gaining knowledge about a diverse range of topics from health to peace, good governance, family behavior and much more. The radio also keeps people informed about what is going on locally, nationally and internationally, helping to reduce the isolation of communities in poor areas. The engaging and productive programs at Meraj mean listener numbers continue to increase. In the past few months, Radio Meraj has seen an increase in callers to its home and morning programs. In addition, staff continue to see an increase in youth callers and parents praising the impact the youth program is having on their children.
Habibullah is one of our listeners. He called the station recently and talked about teen and youth programs. He had this to say," I am a resident of Pashtoon Zarqun district of Herat province, we don’t have access to electricity, therefore, we usually listen to the radio. I have two children. One of them is 12 years old and the other one is 15years old. Each day they listen to the teen and youth program of Radio Meraj. They are motivated by this program and the guest speakers. As a result, they become extremely interested in studying their lessons and going to school. Listening to such effective and useful programs resulted in great changes in their behavior. Their positive attitude makes me so happy. Thank you for changing their lives.
Thank you for your continued interest in the power of radio!
