The Second School Term of 2023 is Here
By Andrew M. Niwagaba | Project leader
Warm greetings to all our donors, friend and well wishers. I hope this report finds you well. Glad to report that the children had a peaceful first term holiday break after a shaky start of the school year. On several occassions during the term, they were sent back home due to lack of school fees payment. Despite the outright challenges that we face at the moment, we are still determined to achieve the project objectives, still fghting on and think we can do better with your continued assistance.
The second school term of the year began on 22nd May 2023. I am happy to report that all the seven children currently under our care reported on the school opening day. As always, I encourage the children to maximize on attendence before the schools start sending them home for lack of fees payment. Although the children were able to attend school for most of last term, NAF was not able to make a single payment to the school for the three in secondary school. We thus have an outstanding fees bill of over 300 dollars that we ought to setttle given that the children have meals (lunch) at school and the lunch bill is part of the outstanding balance. With the new school term already in progress, I worry that it is just a matter of time before the three secondary school students are pushed out of class for non payment.
Relatedly, the food situation at the house is getting worse and has left us in debts with suppliers. Prices of all essential commodities are on the rise and this makes it difficult for us to adequately provide for the children. We need your help and financial support so that we are able to continue taking care of these children as they work towards shaping their future.
Thank you

Our Xmas 2022 Mood
Greetings to all our donors, friends and well wishers. It is my hope that you all had peaceful holidays. Happy New year 2023. We at NAF had peaceful holidays save for a few challenges here and there but all is well. We have had a peaceful start to the new year too and we can only hope for the best.
I am happy to report that Uganda's Primary Leaving Examinations results for 2022 are out. Our three primary seven candidates who sat for these exams at the end of 2022 excelled. Bright and Evas scored first grade while AnnaMary scored a super second. They will all be joining senior one in this month of Februrary. We are happy for them and they too are excited on joining secondary school having lost the two covid 19 pandemic years. Tracy and Trevor were promoted to Primary Five and Primary Two respectively. Believe will have to repeat Primary one given that he is changing to a farily better school. For 2023, we are taking on another vulnerable girl who will be joining Primary One. She should have probably started school some three year back but lacked the opportunity and we are happy to take her on.
For 2023, our focus will be on the Seven children highlighted above. We however have zero balance in the kitty and barely managing to maintain the project running. We We estimate that we will need $500 per child for the year since we will be running a modest budget. We are confident that with $3500 in 2023, the seven children will have a home and an opportunity to access, attend, participate and engage in all school activities and programmes. We thus continue to plead for your support given that these children still need our support.
Oncce again, Thank you so much for your support that has brought the project this far. Please, keep supporting the project as we aim to help these children shape their future.

Thank you so much to everyone who has donated to this project so far. It has been a long but worthwhile journey. We are a month away to the final national examination period of 2022. It has been a challenging year but I believe that life is about having HOPE for the better.
Bright, AnnaMary and Evas will be sitting for their National Primary Leaving examinations in 2022. The three candidates have had a tough academic year...having lost two years during the COVID 19 Pandemic. In 2022, they have been pushed in and out of class for non payment of school fees in the course of the three school terms of the year. Despite these challenges, they are still committed to completeing primary school and joining secondary school in 2023 with your support.
To ensure that the three candidates have a smooth ending of the school year, we are URGENTLY trying to raise USD 350 to clear the outstanding school fees bill for all the five children at Basecamp Primary School and solve a few other needs. If you are considering an end of year donation, feel free to join our efforts in trying to enable these teenagers sit for their final national examinations in early November 2022. We thank you for your support always.
The struggle continues. Keep Safe
