JB School Trash Collection Contest Winners
Our US and Haiti based administration created a Trash Management Contest to present to JB School students. The goal of the project was to clear the school yard of all trash and to maintain the yard as trash free.
The contest was presented to all 9th - 13th grade students, they submitted a plan and solution for the trash issue. 165 entries were submitted and a panel of 5 teachers worked closely with management to pick the top 5 entries and from those entries they have picked a top winner.  The winning entries have received a small cash prize.

List of top 5 entries:
1) Melodie, top wining idea
2) Petit -Phard
3) Simon
4) Nelson
5) Merci

The winning entry was to utilize composting as a way to turn much of the trash accumulated at the school into something useful. This idea has not been implemented yet, as they are refining the best way to begin the composting process.
This contest, which was modeled after the "Shark Tank" tv show, brought about a lot of excitement from the students, many put a lot of thought and effort into their ideas. The Administration hopes to do more projects like this in the future, as they feel it will encourage thinking outside the box, school pride, and help to better the school.
