Hello! We at Until There’s A Cure want to update you on our current project, Educate a Woman, Educate a Nation. What we fundraise from this project goes towards prevention education, care services and awareness campaigns. We have fundraised only a portion of our goal, and would love to fundraise more to reach our goal of $10,000!
Women all over the world are in dire need of education about HIV/AIDS because for women in their reproductive years (15-49), HIV/AIDS is the leading cause of death. This is a horrible truth, and can be linked to sex trafficking and other forms of forced sex.
According to the World Health Organization, “forced sex can contribute to HIV transmission due to tears and lacerations resulting from the use of force.” Where this sort of violent sexual exploitation exists, there is likely poor hygiene, voluntary or induced drug use and likely inadequate knowledge of STDs and treatment options.
We want women that are living in these types of situations to know that there are options. We want them to know that there is freedom from sexual exploitation. We want them to know that there is treatment available. We want to be able to provide them with the care and treatment they deserve.
Help us to achieve this goal by donating!
