Let Us Celebrate Success Despite The Odds!

By Joyce Latson | Founder/Director

Catherine is now a confident 5th Grader.
Catherine is now a confident 5th Grader.

Despite the COVID 19 pandemic and the Ebola epidemic that contributed to the slowdown of all socio-economic activities in Guinea, no child in our school program, or any member of their family contracted either disease.  In fact, the children in our program continue to thrive and make progress.  For example, the young lady we are featuring, Catherine is being recommended for promotion from third to fifth grade.  Her academic level is consistently well above average, and her teachers and school administrators all agree with the double promotion.  Had it not been for Femme Aide Femme, French for Women Helping Women Catherine would have not been able to attend school for the two years she has been in the program.  Also, we have two graduating seniors who will sit for the college exam to determine if they qualify for free tuition. The school year in Guinea does end until the end of July.  We will share the results of our graduates in our next report.

Women Helping Women (WHW) the American team and Femme Aide Femme (FAF) Guinea team will continue to provide the 22 children enrolled in the school program the material and emotional support they need to complete their education and have a life and future worth celebrating.

Women Helping Women would like to thank our donors for their continued kind and generous support of these precious children.  Pleas know that you do make a difference and are changing the trajectory of their lives.
