This project will raise $6,000 to provide scholarships, school supplies, and hygiene kits for 200 vulnerable Maasai girls in the Manyara Region of Tanzania. By removing barriers to education, we will help girls stay in school, improve their learning outcomes, and build brighter futures for themselves and their communities. This is the first phase of a long-term initiative to expand educational opportunities for Maasai girls across the region.
1.Lack of access to education: Masai girls in this community are denied the opportunity to pursue an education, which limits their chances of a better future. 2.Early marriage: Girls as young as 9 years old are forced into marriage with much older men, perpetuating a cycle of poverty and inequality. 3.Patriarchal system: The community operates under patriarchal system where girls and women have title to no say in decision-making processes. 4.Female genital mutilation 5.Limited opportunities
This project will support 200 vulnerable Maasai girls in the Manyara Region through scholarships, school supplies, and hygiene kits. By reducing financial barriers to education, more girls will be able to enroll in and remain in school. Education will help girls gain knowledge about their rights, delay early marriage, increase self-confidence, and create opportunities for a safer and more independent future.
The project will help increase school attendance and educational attainment among Maasai girls, reducing the risk of early marriage and other harmful practices. Educated girls are more likely to become economically independent, participate in decision-making, and support the education of future generations. Over time, this will contribute to stronger families, greater gender equality, and sustainable community development in the Manyara Region.
