Help us send 40 children to school in Uganda

Greetings from Kassanda Children's Aid!

Thank you for your continued support of our Pigs for Prosperity Project. Because of your generosity, we continue to see lives being transformed across our community.

This month has been especially encouraging. Two of our pigs gave birth to 20 healthy piglets, giving us an opportunity to expand the project to more vulnerable families. Through our Pass-on Piglet Program, families receive a piglet with the agreement to return one piglet after it reproduces, allowing many more families to benefit from the same opportunity.

We also sold a few mature pigs, and the income has been used to purchase feed and repair the pig houses, helping us maintain a healthy and productive environment for the animals.

However, we continue to face a major challenge due to the prolonged dry season. Water has become scarce, yet pigs require plenty of water for their health and growth. We are praying and working toward finding sustainable water solutions to keep the project growing.

Beyond the piggery project, we are grateful that Seed Junior Schoolcontinues to grow and now serves 204 children. Our children are also benefiting from fresh milk after our school cow gave birth. The milk is mixed with porridge, improving the nutrition of all the children, especially those who were previously malnourished.

We are also thankful to the Lumen Volunteers, led by Jennifer Polan, for donating scholastic materials, a filing cabinet, a multifunction printer, a television and decoder, and for improving our classrooms by installing plywood to protect learning materials from strong winds. Their support has also enabled eight vulnerable children to receive sponsorship, while 57 children now have pen pals in the United States, encouraging them through friendship and cultural exchange.

Our Appeal

Although we are celebrating these wonderful achievements, many vulnerable families are still waiting to join the Pigs for Prosperity Project. We also need additional support to improve water access, expand the piggery, purchase feed, improve pig shelters, and provide more piglets to families in need.
