Progress Report for the period of 4th quarter re

Summary details: Sincere thanks to Global Give India for supporting APD’s Shradhanjali Integrated School. One of the major purposes of SIS is to promote Inclusive Education and this model is much needed to sensitize the mainstream schools to accept the Inclusive Education system convincingly. Through your long term support, we have been able to achieve the desired results and give education to children with disabilities in the school. In the academic year 2018-19 we have a total of 176 students in the school, We are working towards improving the quality of education by continually enhancing the skills of our teachers and Innovative teaching practices, planning for digital teaching and for computer lab, incorporating alternative communication & teaching for children with CP, as per the measurable indicator 90% of the learning progress is achieved in last year. For Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) we follow methods like Formative assessment (FA) and Summative assessment (SA) to assess the student’s level of learning. Overall 120 children have been rehabilitated like speech therapy, sign language, physiotherapy, and occupational therapy. SIS is resource canter shares knowledge and skills among model school teachers and the partner staff. We have planned to start Special remedial sessions from June 2019, to enable the severely disabled children. They will receive extra support in special classrooms. They will be supported by special educators and extensive therapy will be provided. Enrollrolement to National Institute of the open system (NIOS) is in progress and 35-40 students will be taking up exams through NIOS. 2. Key Actions and Outcomes of the Program: 2018-19 Sl. No Activity Key Actions / Target for 2018-19 (Project Commitments) Outcomes & Details 1 Tata Edge Training. Tata Edge Training was conducted by Mr. Jawed. Training on enhancing the software skills of teachers. 2 Unnati national exam Prize distribution Social Science Unnati national social science exam was conducted and 31 children participated. One of our students got First place at the Block level in social science. 15 children have got first class. This competition helped to improve their curricular activities & self-confidence. 3 APD Team Outing Team outing from different Departments was visited Wonder-la It was a great exposure to facilitate bonding with employees across APD. 4 Women's day Celebrated Women's day at APD women’s participated in competitions like Hairstyling, Photography and many more fun activities and men also participated. Staffs performed Dance, Skit, and other activities. Mrs. Anita Bhatt gave an inspirational speech on Women’s Day. It was a great experience with all staff sharing the stage & enjoyed.   5 Summative Assessment-II Children attended Summative Assessment-II NetApp volunteers Visited the school and supported our special children in their exams. Evaluating children’s skills and improving in their exams played a major role in providing necessary qualities such as hard work, patience, creativity and leadership. NetApp Volunteers supported the children in writing the exam and conducted other activities to engage the children who did not have an exam. 6 ANZ volunteer visited. Volunteers from ANZ visited and organized activities like Games to the children and enrolled with children by playing in-door and out-door games. Children were an enthusiast in participating in the games with NetApp volunteers & played in-door & out-door games, it helped them to acquire social skills, positive attitude, and personal development. 7 7th std farewell 6th std classmates gave them a farewell party by performing a dance, song, game, etc. and also teachers share their experience. To give the lasting impression of the school and to thank them for being with us and sharing their talents in every event organized by us and for their effective participation. 8 Radio Active Storytelling. children visited Radio station where Ms. Aruna and Ms. Pallavi narrated a story about an Elephant and conducted a few fun activities for the children. Storytelling was very effective for children and helped them to relate to one another and was helpful in the development of children. 9 Wheelchair Tennis Children’s were selected to play Wheelchair Tennis between 8-15 years old. 19 children participated in Wheelchair Tennis out of which 5 were selected for Tennis coaching in the month of May 2019. 10 Prathiba Day “Talents Day” to receive the prizes for the competition held for the academic 2018-19. Recognized the children's talent and reward them in performing well in their extracurricular and academics. 11 Parents – teachers meeting Parents attended the meeting to collect their report cards and progress. 98% of the parents attended the meeting. Parents were happy to see the progress of their children in all the fields of education and extracurricular activities.
