It is with heartfelt thanks that we share our most recent activity and achievements.
Providing Vocational Skills
Dhammajarinee is very focused on providing in-demand vocational training skills to all students, so they can be self-sufficient no matter what their future brings. Toward this goal, a memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed by DWS with Pak Tho Industrial and Community Education College (PTCC). Highly qualified PTCC faculty will train DWS students in robotics and basic electrical engineering.
Preparing for Dream Careers
Again, this year a "ROAD TO THE FUTURE" workshop for students in grades 11 and 12 was generously organized by Buddharasksha Foundation. Through various activities, students discovered their strengths, weaknesses, and personality traits, and were exposed to various careers. They learned about career suitability and how to prepare for interviews for scholarships. (See photos below)
Advanced Robotic Training
In late June, STEM expert Dr. Stuart Kohlhagen returned to provide an exciting two-week advanced robotics training. Students enjoyed building their own tower robot from scratch and learned countless skills in the process. At the conclusion of the workshop, Dr Kohlhagen posted on his FB page, “Such a great school, and such astounding progress from the students and the teachers—all because of the support from the school leadership team, from within the school, and sponsors from the global community. The pictures tell SO LITTLE of the transformation we achieved in skills, knowledge, interest, and confidence. They will not all become robotics engineers, but they will find significant roles in a world that depends on them.”
Dental and Health Checks for the Primary School
We are grateful to the local hospital staff from Pak Tho Hospital who kindly visited Dhammajarinee to perform dental and health checks, including eye tests, for all students from kindergarten to grade 6.
Dancing and Singing Competition
In June, Dhammajarinee organized a school-wide dancing and singing contest to encourage student expression. The older students managed every aspect of the event, developing their leadership skills. The school is very committed to providing such opportunities for students to gain confidence, cultivate creativity, foster teamwork, improve social skills, encourage healthy competition, and gain a sense of accomplishment.
Thank you for being a part of Dhammajarinee's success!!
