Making New Pathways

By Martin Dyer | Project Leader

Hi to all of our donors!

We have some new and exciting news.  We have recently identified another couple of projects, which could really use our help in the area. We will be shifting focus slightly from what we have been working on, and spend some time aiding another organization.

We have managed to make contact with Rob Small who runs the Abalimi project. This project is in many ways similar to the Indlovu project.  The Abalimi project is an urban agriculture (UA) and environmental action (EA) association operating in the socio-economically neglected townships of Khayelitsha, Nyanga and surrounding areas on the Cape Flats near Cape Town, South Africa.

We hope to start a great new relationship with Rob’s organization, and look forward to reporting on some great new ventures in the area.

We are also meeting with The South African Education and Environment Project (SAEP) on the 17th of May to discuss forming a relationship with them. The SAEP serves children, youth and education providers in Cape Town's impoverished informal settlements (townships) through academic, enrichment and personal development programmes.

They aim to expand horizons, build confidence, empower and inspire the communities they serve through a range of programmes at the early childhood, high school, post-matric and tertiary levels.

Their offerings have developed in response to community needs to help beneficiaries build academic and life skills, prepare for and succeed in further education and employment, and contribute as leaders to South Africa's economic and social development

Thank you again for your support.
