These skills are a key to our performances because it was after training of 3(three) years by Linde the late and Jaya the founder.

Those groups were formed to help to help women: HIV/AIDS, elderly, children (OVC) to live a better healthier life. This involved:-

  • Counseling of women /families which continue to date.
  • Self-awareness has made women to live so happily understanding what theyare.
  • No more stigma, stress over come and women go freely to their clinical centres to get Septrine and ARV'S.
  • Balance diet is very much practiced through local groups grown by women themselves.

Agriculture

  • Our women practice agriculture. They grow beans, maize, G nuts, green vegetables, soya, matoke (green bananas), Irish potatoes, garlic, sim-sim (sesame seeds), sweet potatoes, cassava, millet, sorghum andothers.
  • The seeds are given to women through funds received through River Fund.
  • July to December season, women released some yields of crops from seeds as was supplied in late June 2017 but not enough to sustain them throughout.
  • Bugiri group has not had any harvest because the drought continued to date although we all realize no rain from early November todate.
  • Poultry in our agriculture continues for every member but at a low scale individually.
  • Piggery continues at a very smallscale.
  • One of our members had received an exotic cow from NAADS organization but it died.(Anna)

Care for the elderly.

  • We care for them but their way of shelter ispoor.

Care for OVC (Orphans and other Vulnerable Children)/ Child beaded households.

  • We take those with HIV/AIDS living positively and make sure they get drugs in time.
  • Child headed families those near RWEN centre feed at the centre and get food. Others in Bugiri, Tororo, RWEN and Amonikakine are also given food to take home and feed in theirhomes.
  • Scholastics, uniforms, top ups are provided by members from funds received through River Fund have been provided.

  • RWEN, feed nursery children and those OVC around and elderly women come for porridge and takelunch.

Home Visits

  • Our women continue with home visits to OVCs, Child headed families HIV/AIDS homes vulnerable families guide andcounsel.

Development

  1. Women are very active and there is great improvement in taking care of their families very strong hard working women.
  2. Women have become good advisers to the families of their communities.
  3. No more stigma, stress in communities around members but progress and good charter,
  4. Members that trained in hair dressing and tailoring can train others and have their small places where they work and earn a smallliving.

Challenges:

  • There is a challenge of transporting members to further place and visits to elderly, OVC especially when sick and children with HIV/AIDS to centres.
  • There is very poor shelter to some of childheaded and elderly.

Conclusion andsuggestions

  • Happy new year 2018
  • Prayer for transport to the groups for better movement.
  • Relief food should continue as last year because there are stilll on gdroughts. Some  areas did not have any harvests at all and we are looking forward to having another problem on feeding our children and families in our communities.
