As originally planned, the organization aimed to raise USD 10,000 to support Parkinson’s patients with essential medication. During this reporting cycle, we were able to raise USD 65 through the GlobalGiving platform. While this amount is modest, it reflects the ongoing challenges in fundraising within the current global and local economic environment, and we sincerely appreciate the generosity of those who contributed.
To date, the project has raised a total of USD 181 through GlobalGiving. Every contribution, regardless of size, plays a meaningful role in supporting patients who depend on continuous access to medication.
Parkinson’s patients in Ethiopia continue to face serious health and financial challenges. The rising cost of medication, limited household income, and lack of sufficient health coverage have made it increasingly difficult for many patients to access the treatment they need. Without consistent medication, patients are at high risk of rapid health deterioration.
The funds raised so far have been used to support medication costs for Parkinson’s patients, helping to ensure continuity of treatment for those in critical need. Even small contributions make a significant difference by reducing the financial burden on patients and their families and improving their quality of life.
The support from the GlobalGiving platform remains extremely important to our work. Beyond fundraising, it provides visibility, credibility, and access to a global community of donors who care about the wellbeing of vulnerable populations.
Despite ongoing financial constraints and funding limitations, the Parkinson Patients Support Organization Ethiopia remains fully committed to its mission. We will continue to seek new partnerships, strengthen awareness efforts, and explore additional fundraising opportunities to expand our reach and provide more consistent support to Parkinson’s patients across Ethiopia.
