Dear supporters,
Green Phenix is on the move — literally and figuratively. The past few months have been a period of transformation, connection, and continued impact. Thanks to your ongoing support, we’ve kept building momentum towards a circular and inclusive economy on Curaçao and beyond.
Moving Forward: From Polarisweg to Kaya Andira
After several impactful years at our location on the Polarisweg, we are officially moving out. This space played a key role in our development — as a hub for recycling, education, and social inclusion — and will always hold a special place in our story.
We’ve now returned to Kaya Andira as a temporary base of operations, which allows us to continue our core work without interruption. Behind the scenes, we are actively exploring exciting new collaborations and scouting locations that will support the next phase of Green Phenix’s evolution.
Strengthening Regional Connections: Welcoming Perpetual Plastics
In January, we hosted Perpetual Plastics, an environmental initiative from Sint Maarten, for an immersive week of learning, sharing, and collaboration.
Key moments included:
Hands-on exchanges in recycling and social inclusion, including a guided tour of our social reintegration program.
Partnership meetings with GreenKidz, Paradise Recycling, and Kukudushi, showcasing successful educational and entrepreneurial models.
A coastal clean-up at San Pedro, highlighting the urgent need for regional action on ocean plastics.
A technical extrusion workshop, helping Perpetual Plastics strengthen their local production capacity.
This exchange sparked inspiration on both sides. At the end of March, four Green Phenix team members visited Sint Maarten, where they further expanded their knowledge and experience through hands-on learning and local engagement. The visit deepened the collaboration between both organizations and opened new doors for regional impact.
This exchange was made possible by Stichting DOEN
Continuing Our Impact
Recycling Hero Campaign: Our incentive-based collection system remains strong, encouraging responsible recycling through a simple reward structure.
Expanded Collection Network: With partners across the island, we’re increasing accessibility while working to reduce contamination and improve logistics.
PlasticWise e-learning: Our open-source educational platform is gaining regional interest and may soon be adopted in other islands.
What’s Next?
As we continue to adapt and grow, our focus stays clear:
empowering people, reducing waste, and creating systemic change.
In the coming months, we will:
Re-define our long term strategy
Deepen regional collaborations.
Scale the environmental and social aspects of our mission.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Your support fuels everything we do — and with your help, Green Phenix continues to rise.
Stay tuned for more updates — or reach out if you’d like to get more involved in what’s next.
With gratitude,
The Green Phenix Team
