Please find attached our latest report from Doorstep School.
This year, 2022-23 we are proud to announce that Door Step school Mumbai has undertaken the responsibility of endorsing and implementing “Foundational Literacy and Numeracy” launched by the Central Ministry of Education under “National Initiative for Proficiency in Reading with Understanding and Numeray.
Teachers are being educated on how to engage children in the classroom activities with effective use of “Teaching -Learning Material.”
Doorstep School has shifted it's teaching focus from a teacher-led process to learner-led activity and experience-based learning process, where the learning of concepts and topics is considered complete only if the learner is able to demonstrate its application to solve problems in real-life situations.

Doorstep Report Autumn 2022

Dear Supporters
As Diwali is nearly upon us we are reminded that it is a prayer for prosperity yet this remains elusive for many people born into poor communities.
Education is the single greatest leveller for children yet for those living on the streets of Mumbai, the challenges of accessing an education continue past the pandemic.
- Marginalised children still continue working, begging on streets to support their livelihood.
- Lack of basic facilities such as drinking water and electricity continue to be major concerns for parents.
- Mental health of children is still at risk as alcoholism drug addiction and domestic violence is very commonly witnessed in their families.
- Demolition of illegal living structures has been one of the ongoing constraints for migrant families, children are always under pressure of being homeless.
Doorstep School continues to work tirelessly with these communities and it is heartwarming to hear of each success story.

Doorstep School Report May 2022

Dear Supporters
I am delighted to attach our latest report detailing our collaborative work with Doorstep School.
During the COVID-19 pandemic most of the Municipal schools and low-cost private schools struggled to continue educational activities for student’s due lack of required resources.
Door Step School attempted to address this situation with limited resources, executed many new strategies and kept reaching out to children and families we are working with.
The primary focus was to start children’s online classes by using direct telephone calls and using What’s App. With their Digital Learning Project the organisation has provided 400 digital devices for online learning and has been able to provide and uninterrupted education for students during the academic year.
Door Step School have continued operating existing programs and classes for small group of students with limited number of hours - further details of these initiatives can be found in the attached report.
