Child Action is a UK‑registered charity supporting education and personal development for children growing up in India’s most disadvantaged street and slum communities. The charity was founded by Dr Seema Sharma after witnessing the deep poverty faced by children in Mumbai while filming Channel 4’s Secret Millionaire, where she volunteered with several grassroots NGOs. Because we maintain personal, long‑standing relationships with our partners, we communicate regularly, understand their needs deeply and provide consistent support. We carry out project monitoring and help produce progress reports, reducing administrative pressure on grassroots teams and ensuring donor funds have maximum impact. The work delivered by our partners is transformational and long‑lasting — giving children who face the desperately unfair challenge of extreme poverty the lift they need to learn, grow and thrive.
