Dear Supporters

As Diwali is nearly upon us we are reminded that it is a prayer for prosperity yet this remains elusive for many people born into poor communities.

Education is the single greatest leveller for children yet for those living on the streets of Mumbai, the challenges of accessing an education continue past the pandemic.

Marginalised children still continue working, begging on streets to support their livelihood.
Lack of basic facilities such as drinking water and electricity continue to be major concerns for parents.
Mental health of children is still at risk as alcoholism drug addiction and domestic violence is very commonly witnessed in their families.
Demolition of illegal living structures has been one of the ongoing constraints for migrant families, children are always under pressure of being homeless.

Doorstep School continues to work tirelessly with these communities and it is heartwarming to hear of each success story.
