Alcidiades a 78 year old victim or the armed conflict. Got shot on his leg by the guerilla forces 15 year ago for not giving them money. His leg never fully recovered and had to be amputated 3 years ago. He had not been able to receive a prosthesis from the state subsidized health system. Cirec evaluated the case and determined he would benefit from receiving his first prosthesis from our sponsorship plan, because he is a very active person that still has a lot to live for. He will begin his rehabilitation process in 2 months time in Cirec.
Daniel , a 32 year old retired police force member. Lost his leg while doing policework and stepped on a land mine. Received his first prosthesis though the armed forces health system, but further attention had been delayed. The American embassy contacted us to support him with his rehabilitation. He received his prosthesis through Cirec´s sponsorship plan.
Sergio a 43 year old beneficiary who lost his leg 20 years ago in a motorcycle accident. He lives in a rural area and has difficult access to the subsidized health system. Cirec has sponsored his prosthesis rehabilitation process twice, the last one during the first semester of 2022.
