Argos the amazing therapist Dog

By Mauricio and Anelvi Mogollon | Program officer / Therapist

Argos continues filling of security and love to children in communities, developing funny and simply activities bringing a trust environment for all of them.

During this quarter we have seen more participation from mothers and siblings in children therapies and activities, families are now involved in children treatment plans. We have seen great changes and achievements in children with family participation. Children have improved their skills and they feel more comfortable and happier.

We would like to share with you that like a couple of years ago, mothers were afraid to been seen playing with their children with disability due to stereotypes in rural communities. We are so proud now to see mothers playing and implementing therapies with their children in community areas where we develop activities.

294 therapies were served to children by Adisa during this quarter in our headquarters and rural communities.

Argos and Anelvi (therapist), had focus all their efforts and work to improve daily life activities for children with disability in order to achieve their autonomy.

Mary and Susy life Story

Mary is 14 years old; she is Susy´s younger sister. Mary is now participating in therapies to support Susy, she was very afraid to be close to Argos, because she is all the time afraid of dogs, Mary was bite by a dog in the street. Mary was not aware that Anelvi our therapist was working with her too to overcome that fear. Susy was showing her sister how Argos is so kind, lovely and friendly. Now Mary is all the time hugging Argos and playing with him and her sister. Mary is feeding Argos and giving instructions to him to support Susy.
