Super Typhoon Rai/Odette, destroyed the southern-eastern part of the Philippines when it struck last December, killing hundreds of people and leaving more than 300,000 displaced. All donations to this fund will exclusively support Typhoon Rai recovery efforts supporting our "cash for work" project and the "Emergency food supplies" project, in order to facilitate the reconstruction of safe homes that will provide health, safety and welfare of 10 families and provide food packages to 70 families.
The recent natural disaster left thousands of people homeless, who are now living under precarious conditions as the local officials are setting up temporary shelters.
This fund support short term project with distribution of food to the families in need and will support long-term recovery of 10 families' homes by providing them with the necessary training and cash for work in order to purchase materials needed to reconstruct their homes so that future natural disasters will not affect the stability of the houses. One of the strongest advantages of this program is that it enables people to determine their own priorities.
As Kito ODV knows the area very well after having been there for 9 years, your donation will be used effectively to support the distribution of food to 70 families and the construction of homes for long-term, taking 10 families out of temporary shelters.
