DigitalDivideData is an IT socially conscious organization dedicated to creating new technology-related jobs for the disadvantaged. DDD currently has ninety employees and twenty contracts.
As the world’s economy becomes increasingly interconnected, it is essential that opportunities to join the global economy exist in developing countries. To address this need, DDD was created to capitalize on the business opportunity from companies searching for lower-cost IT outsourcing solutions. DDD is at the nexus of several development themes including: technology transfer, SME development, economic alternatives to human trafficking, self sustainability and disabled individuals’ equality.
Self-sustainability is fundamental to DDD’s mission. By selling "digitization" services we generate income like a handicraft NGO sells its goods. We reinvest all of our profit into our employees’ development through college education, health care, continued training, and English lessons.
The outcomes of this project include employeeing more than 100 disadvantaged people in Cambodia, allowing them to improve their lives and provide for their families.
This project has provided additional documentation in a Microsoft Word file (projdoc.doc).
