Dear Supporters and Sponsors,
We are delighted to share an update on our project and the impact of your generous support. Here’s a glimpse into how your contributions have helped children with special educational needs (SEN) to learn, connect, and thrive.
Our Destiny Children and Family Support Project continues to host weekly SEN Clubs, providing creative and social activities for children with special needs. These sessions also offer much-needed respite for parents and carers, allowing them 4hours of relaxation and self-care every week as respite to families.
Our weekly SEN Club run : In-person as face to face sessions on Mondays, 5–7 PM at Mounthfield Community Centre, Orpington and Remote (via Zoom): Wednesdays, 5–7 PM
These activities help children develop crucial social and life skills while alleviating the isolation often experienced by children and their families. Many children with conditions such as Autism, ADHD, and other learning disabilities face barriers to social engagement and accessible activities, making them prone to loneliness. Our project addresses these challenges by fostering a supportive environment where they can grow and connect.
On 28th August 2024, we organized a coach trip to Margate Beach for our Destiny Children and Family Support Group. We traveled together as a group of 74 participants, including children and their families, enjoyed a fun-filled day at the beach and rides at Dreamland Margate. It was a wonderful opportunity for families to bond, play, and create cherished memories.
Our Mission: Our aim is to inspire and empower disadvantaged children and families to overcome the limitations imposed by their circumstances. We strive to provide enriching activities that enhance their quality of life and foster a sense of community and belonging.
We are committed to continuing our weekly SEN Club and holiday activities dnd Camps, offering opportunities for children and young people to develop social and communication skills while providing respite to families. We aslo plans to continties offering additional educational trips and outings in the upcoming months to further enrich the lives of our participants.
We’ll keep you updated on our progress. If you have any questions or would like to engage with the project, feel free to email us at admin@lwfci.org.uk, and we’ll be happy to connect with you.
Thank you once again for your generosity and support.
Warm regards,
Jennifer
