Console Mission urgently needs its own building. Since 2019, it has helped 9 girls resist forced marriage by renting a flat. In rural areas, lack of colleges pushes youth to towns, but without rent support or guidance, many drop out. Private colleges lack welfare focus, and girls seeking work fall into risky jobs-some tragically linked to human trafficking. A safe space can change this.
Child marriage is a form of human trafficking. Over 70% of trafficking victims are women and girls. Nearly 1 in 4 are children. In Nepal, 33% of girls marry before 18, and 8% before 15. Many are punished simply for saying no. Let's change that-together. (Sources: ILO, A21.org, Girls Not Brides)
Since 2019, Console Mission's Self-Managed Home has supported 9 girls directly with housing and 108 girls (ages 5-18) from 12 villages with education. Many fled abuse, discrimination, or forced marriage. Without a permanent building, this safe space remains unstable. A secure home will ensure lasting safety, education, and hope.
A permanent Self-Managed Home will protect at-risk girls from forced marriage, abuse, and dropout. It will foster education, healing, and leadership-creating confident young women who uplift their communities. Over time, it will break cycles of poverty and gender-based violence, building a safer, more equitable future.
