Daily Nutritious Lunch to Rural School Children

One of the most meaningful aspects of our school feeding work is seeing how a basic necessity such as food can create opportunities for children.

Thanks to your amazing support, Development Alert has distributed food items to a rural primary school in Tororo District, Eastern Uganda. The supplies will help provide nutritious school meals to over 400 children for a complete school term.

These meals are helping create better conditions for learning.

A child who is hungry may struggle to give full attention to a lesson. A child who has received a nourishing meal has an additional source of energy to participate in classroom activities and remain engaged throughout the day. While food alone cannot solve every challenge facing rural education, it is an important part of creating an environment in which children can learn.

This intervention is especially important because regular school meals are not consistently available in all primary schools across the region.
