Daily Nutritious Lunch to Rural School Children

Dear Donor,

For a child, coming to school should be about learning, friendship, discovery, and dreaming about the future—not worrying about when they will eat.

In Tororo District, Eastern Uganda, your support is helping make that ideal closer to reality.

Development Alert has distributed food items to a rural primary school, providing the resources needed to support nutritious school meals for more than 400 children throughout a complete school term.

This intervention gives learners an additional reason to look forward to their school day.

When children know that food will be available at school, it can provide reassurance to families and help create a more supportive environment for learners. The meals also provide an opportunity for schools and communities to reinforce important lessons about balanced nutrition, hygiene, and healthy eating practices.

We want these lessons to extend beyond the school compound.

Through sensitization and community engagement, parents and caregivers are encouraged to understand the importance of nutrition in children’s development and education. Teachers also play an important role by reinforcing good hygiene and nutrition practices among learners.

Your support is therefore helping create a chain of positive action: donors provide resources, schools organize meals, children receive nourishment, and communities gain greater awareness of the importance of feeding and child well-being.
