When Learning Becomes Possible Again
In Tororo District, many children once experienced school as a place of struggle rather than learning.
Hunger made concentration difficult. Lessons felt long and confusing. Some children gave up mentally even while sitting in class.
Today, that reality is changing for over 1,600 children supported through the school feeding program.
With daily meals, children are regaining the ability to learn. They can now follow lessons from beginning to end, participate in discussions, and complete classroom activities with greater confidence.
Teachers describe this as a return of “readiness”—the mental and physical state needed for learning to happen effectively.
What is most powerful is how quickly change appears once nutrition is introduced. A child who once struggled to stay awake can become one of the most active participants in class.
Your support is making learning possible again for children who were previously held back by hunger. It is restoring not just education, but opportunity itself.
