In response to worsening poverty and acute food gaps across informal camp clusters in Kafr Lusin, BESME INSANI deployed an emergency bread relief operation. Over a multi-day field intervention, our team successfully delivered 15,000 kg of fresh bread bundles to 3,000 vulnerable displaced households, reaching approximately 15,000 individual beneficiaries living in overcrowded tent shelters.
Kafr Lusin accommodates numerous newly displaced families who have depleted their financial reserves and lack stable income sources. Rising food inflation in Northwestern Syria has made basic bread bundles prohibitively expensive for these communities. BESME INSANI’s mobile distribution network intervened to bridge this critical gap, providing free, daily fresh bread allocations directly to registered camp residents.
Field teams executed structured, decentralized distributions across multiple camp blocks to prevent overcrowding and ensure orderly access. Local community leaders assisted in organizing queue lines and establishing designated waiting areas for women and the elderly. Every stage—from bakery packaging to field distribution—was closely supervised by quality control officers to guarantee hygiene and prompt delivery.
Receiving fresh bread daily offers immediate relief to families under financial stress, preventing skipped meals and reducing reliance on negative coping mechanisms like high-interest debts. BESME INSANI extends its sincere appreciation to humanitarian donors whose partnership enables us to sustain essential food security operations across Kafr Lusin camp settlements.
