Displaced families residing in Al-Karama camp face continuous hardship due to soaring food costs and restricted employment opportunities. Addressing these critical living conditions, BESME INSANI completed a targeted bread distribution project designed to secure basic daily nutrition for vulnerable households. During this operation, our logistical teams distributed 12,500 kg of fresh bread to 2,500 displaced families, supporting an estimated 12,500 individuals across the settlement.
For impoverished households living in makeshift shelters, a daily bundle of bread is often the primary meal source sustaining children through tough winter conditions. To maintain food safety and quality standards, BESME INSANI partnered with local commercial bakeries to produce high-standard bread packs daily. Vans equipped with thermal covers delivered the fresh bread directly to camp sectors at dawn.
Operations followed strict humanitarian protection guidelines. Verification officers checked recipient vouchers against pre-registered databases to ensure transparent delivery without duplication. Special assistance was arranged for elderly individuals and persons with mobility challenges, ensuring door-to-door bread delivery straight to their tents.
The reliable provision of fresh bread brings immediate comfort and restores basic dignity to parents struggling to nourish their children. BESME INSANI continues to monitor food security indicators across Al-Karama camp, striving to expand bakery partnerships and preserve vital bread distribution routes for displaced Syrian communities in need.
