Closing Report: Cultivating Healthy Communities in Latin America

Thank you for supporting Cultivating Healthy Communities in Latin America. Because of donors like you, GRACE Cares and our local partners, GuateBuena in Guatemala and Project Hearts in the Dominican Republic, were able to continue advancing community health, women’s empowerment, and sustainable development through locally led solutions.

In Guatemala, support for GuateBuena helped expand access to eco-friendly stoves that reduce smoke exposure, improve respiratory health, lower household fuel costs, and decrease environmental strain caused by firewood use. Alongside stove distribution, families participated in conversations and education around environmental stewardship, household health, and sustainable practices.

In the Dominican Republic, Project Hearts continued strengthening its Community Health Leadership Program by equipping women leaders with tools and knowledge to educate their communities on preventive health, maternal well-being, mental health, hygiene, chronic disease awareness, and healthy family practices. These community-based approaches help create trusted local leadership networks that extend health education far beyond a single workshop or training session.

We are deeply grateful for your generosity and belief in this work. Your support directly contributed to programs that prioritize dignity, local leadership, and long-term community capacity.

There will be additional opportunities to support GuateBuena, Project Hearts, and other GRACE Cares initiatives in the future, including upcoming GlobalGiving campaigns such as the upcoming July 15, 2026 Bonus Day campaign. We encourage you to stay connected, follow our updates, and continue being part of this growing community of supporters committed to locally led global development.

Thank you again for supporting healthier communities across Latin America.

In gratitude,

GRACE Cares
