Your support is vital to improving health, empowering women, and promoting sustainability. In Guatemala, GuateBuena will provide 100 eco-friendly stoves to reduce pollution and improve family health. In the Dominican Republic, Project Hearts will train 10 women as Community Health Leaders, giving them the tools to address physical, mental, and emotional health risks. These leaders will educate 200 others about preventive health and well-being, fostering stronger, self-reliant communities.
In Guatemala, many families rely on firewood for cooking, leading to high monthly expenses, health risks, and deforestation. In the Dominican Republic, limited government support, generational poverty, and inadequate health education leave communities vulnerable to preventable diseases. Cultural norms further restrict women's roles, pushing them into early marriage and motherhood, which hinders their access to education and leadership opportunities.
In Guatemala, we will distribute high-efficiency, locally-made stoves to 100 families and conduct environmental and health workshops to promote sustainable practices and respiratory health. In the Dominican Republic, our Community Health Leadership Program trains 10 women on essential health topics and leadership skills. These women will educate ten families each, teaching 200 people about preventing common illnesses, promoting maternal health, clean water access, and managing chronic diseases.
This project will create lasting change by improving health, empowering women, and fostering sustainability. Eco-friendly stoves will reduce respiratory diseases, conserve resources, and instill long-term environmental stewardship. In the Dominican Republic, trained women leaders will establish a ripple effect by educating hundreds on vital health practices. Over time, healthier families, cleaner environments, and strong community leadership will drive self-sufficiency and resilience.
