Every year in the country, more than 20,000 youth complete schooling to the highest level of education. However most of them rely on white collar Jobs which are scarce. Kinda Langas self help group works towards reducing the burden of looking for job by training and employing these youth in various skills based projects. we plan to create employment opportunities to more than 1000 youth in the coming year. so far our impact has been realized by over 800 youth.
The challenges the community faces is increasing number of unemployed youth out of school. most of them have been lured into joining gangs, political misuse and money laundering to earn a living. the affect group are their families, the communities and children due to the worn out social fabric. In this regard, the direct beneficiaries for this project will be 1000 youth whom the organization will train, empower and provide them with financial startup support to enable them have a stable income
To solve the problem the project will: 1. mobilize and rehabilitate 1000 youth from societal misuse. 2. Train these youth on skills based income generation. 3. Provide startup funds for job creation. 4. Market and empower youth projects in the community.
This project is going to reduce crime relate activities as more youth in the slums will be fully employed reducing idleness that is an inspiration to crime. more than 1000 lives will improve as these youth will be able to provide for themselves and their families. The project will have a ripple effect and the same knowledge will be transferred in other slums in Uasin Gishu County of Kenya.
