Project Report 2 - Second and Third Distributions

By Josien van der Kooij | Grant Coordinator

Dear Donors & Supporters

We would like to start this report, with a massive thank you for your amazing and generous support. Your contribution is truly invaluable for us and our community, especially during these times when we are all affected by the current global pandemic!

Totally for this project, we raised $480.39 due to your amazing contributions. During our initial distribution round, we have distributed 21 rations that will last for at least a week, containing rice, dal, oil, sugar, salt, wheat powder, and spices in the Chengalpattu/Kanchipuram area. The majority of the beneficiaries are female-headed households and transgenders who are currently struggling.

At the beginning of 2021, we have organised a second and a third distribution during which we have provided vulnerable households with rations. During our second session, we have reached out to 28 households which were all provided with rations. Most beneficiaries are facing unemployment and subsequently lack the secure income to provide for themselves during these difficult times. Our last distribution was specifically among the Transgender Community in the Chengalpat district to whom we provided 20 rations. The transgender community has been particularly affected by the COVID19 pandemic due to their dependence on informal employment as their main source of income.

Moreover, this will be our closing report of this project, With your amazing support, we have raised a total of $480.39 with which we provided 69 rations to vulnerable households. Your support has made an amazing impact at the community level. We will continue fundraising for other projects such as our Dayspring Home and the Mobilisation of Female Local Farmers initiatives for which we would love to get your support.

We sincerely thank you for your generosity and hope you recognize the incredible impact that you are having on our beneficiaries. It is only together that we can mitigate COVID-19. Please contact us if you have any questions about the rations, funding or our organization. We will keep you informed of how your money is being used, and continue to send updates on the project.

Sincerely,

Mercy Annapoorani & the Blossom Trust Team
