In the months of November and December, we worked with the youth homeless people of Ednica in the community centers in a normal way. On the days of service, this guys bathed, washed their clothes, and prepared their meals. We provide different supports for them like a health fair, emotional health sessions, street visits and tours of various points to contact more homeless youth people.
In November, in the Ajusco´s Community center, we had a Health Fair which the Covid-19 vaccine was applied for homeless youth people and they had a general diagnosis of their health was made that included measurements of: weight, height, body mass index, temperature, blood glucose, oxygenation level, grip strength and blood pressure.
In the Morelos´ community center, emotional health sessions and educational sessions, the ednica´s crew explained this topics: Productive and reproductive work (gender equality), taboos on sexuality, negotiation to resolve conflicts, hygiene actions and self-care, list of skills and aptitudes for work, daily actions towards women, as well as adaptation to rules and norms.
In the last period of the year, in the Emotional Health area of ednica IAP, we continued the development of therapeutic processes for the population of girls, boys, adolescents, young people living on the streets and their families, based on the implementation of different strategies, such as individual and group psychological care, in face-to-face modalities, as well as at a distance.
In this way, 16 girls, boys and adolescents who participate in the Community Centers Ajusco, Morelos and Xochimilco accessed psychological care; 8 adults responsible for the family agreed to psychological treatment; while 8 young people linked to life on the street accessed emotional health care services, of which 3 received individual treatment, and 5 more, accessed group care at the Morelos Community Center.
Based on individual therapeutic processes, psychological evaluation procedures are developed for recently referred patients. Likewise, treatment plans are implemented depending on the problem or problems diagnosed in order to promote improvements in their emotional health.
