"COOL MIND"- A Study of Mental Health in Schools

Project Objective

Develop and validate methods for tracking depressive symptoms and tendencies in adolescents, through a serious, digital and scientific game, applicable in the school environment.

After studying and improving the content of the test applied, in addition to graphical improvements on the platform accessed by students, Cool Mind implemented important updates to its dynamics. With these improvements, a new test was carried out at a public school in the city, a partner of the Alpha Lumen Institute.

At the same time, the project team has been deepening its research on mental health, promoting enriching discussions with parents and guardians, analyzing practical cases and reviewing relevant materials in the area. This multidisciplinary approach, which integrates psychology, education and technology, guarantees a solid foundation for the project, allowing it to offer an innovative and effective approach to tackling issues related to young people's mental health.

The combination of this new research with the constant evolution of the platform ensures that Cool Mind is in tune with the needs of students, while at the same time contributing to the development of more efficient and sensitive solutions for the mental well-being of young people in situations of vulnerability.

In recent months, project activities have continued, which have focused on improving and adjusting the game, covering everything from the structure of the phases to the design and illustrations. The technical team, in collaboration with psychologists and coordinators, has held meetings to improve all necessary aspects. The aim is to ensure an optimal experience for young participants and obtain accurate results, allowing those with tendencies towards impaired mental health to be identified and referred.

The team has also deepened its research on the topic, involving conversations with parents, analysis of practical cases and review of relevant materials on mental health. This multidisciplinary approach ensures that the project is well-founded, providing an effective approach to dealing with young people's mental health issues.
