We are living in such unprecedented times with the whole world on stand still. We have had to put so many of our projects on hold as the future is so uncertain. In our country we have just gone into a harder lock down so our plans are even more delayed.
Our first project we are wanting to start for the year is setting up a mobile library and resource centre in one of the underprivileged communities that we serve. This centre will be attached to a creche that we revamped in 2019, and the hope is that once children leave the creche and move on to bigger school, they will still come back to the mobile library to read and learn.
Good day,
Thank you to each and every individual for reaching out over this period of lockdown. In an extremely trying time globally we saw a community stand together like never before. From every person on the receiving end of a warm meal, thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
We have been able to serve over one million meals during our national lockdown that started in March. More than half of the individuals receiving meals are children and so we are incredibly grateful for what we have been able to do with your support.
Over 2 million children go hungry in South Africa every day. Over and above being malnourished, children are too hungry to attend school or focus on their work.
With Early Learning Centers opening up recently, multitudes of children will rely on school feeding programmes. For many, this means one meal each day.
Due to us being in lockdown, we are currently unable to continue any revamp projects at the moment, but we are looking forward to starting up again once lockdown us lifted.
Through our GlobalGiving account, for this week only, all donations up to $50 will be matched at 50%! Please consider supporting this project during this week.
Thank you for your support.
Kind Regards,
The Love Story team

The last few months have been a whirlwind. With so many of our plans and projects being put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have had to adapt as things come our way.
With the current national lockdown in South Africa, all schools are closed, and therefore all plans of creche revamps and school openings put on hold.
We thank you for your continued support through this uncertain time and we will send through updates as soon as the lockdown is lifted and we can get back to work on our school renovation projects.
During this time we have been working tirelessly, with the support of many businesses and members of the public, to ensure that the thousands of starving, destitute people in our communities are being fed. To date, we have been able to distribute over 300 000 meals, but there are still many many more mouths to feed and people to reach.

We are off to a busy start this year! Our offices opened on 13 January after the Chrirstmas break and we have hit the ground running!
We are on track for finishing off our container school project at Jessie's Green Apple Preschool and will be having an opening ceremony in February. We look forward to sharing the photos with you in our next report.
Over December we were able to bless all of the creches we support with what we call 'Buckets of Blessing' which are buckets (or bags) filled with non-perishable food items to see them through over the festive season. This is always an exciting time for us as it is a special Christmas blessings to so many families in need.
Our next container school revamp is taking off soon, finalizing the last few details before we begin. Please have a look at our next report for more updates on that.
We have had an exciting few months finishing up our creche revamp project at Green Apple Pre-school in the underprivileged area of Kwazakele, Port Elizabeth. This school has 180 children and is run by Jessie, who has given her life to running this school and serving her community. To see more of Jessie's story please follow the link to watch documentary:

This project was started on a piece of land near Jessie's house, which was being used as the school. We have been able to bless them with 3 conainer classrooms, paved/roofed area for outside play and activities, jungle gym, toilets, bikes, fencing to keep them safe and are still to purchase desks and chairs for their new classrooms.
This project was completed in partnership with RAM Spreaders and we hope to complete many more such projects in the future.
