Two hundred families, victims of rape and sexual violence, displaced by the war and living in the city of Bukavu, continue to benefit from the project, particularly the family members of the direct beneficiaries, totaling 1,400 people (an average of seven people per family). Each family prepared their land, participated in loading and unloading building materials, and carried out the construction work. It is also worth noting that a community-run warehouse, managed by community members and/or each beneficiary family, is available, and other volunteers are responsible for transporting the materials to their destination.
Furthermore, local authorities have also helped facilitate the administrative procedures related to the settlement site and ensure the safety of the families and their belongings.
