Conservation Without Borders

Since our last update we have made some great leaps in our Conservation Without Borders project.

With the help of hundreds of volunteers we've planted thousands of plants and restored vast areas of land for Australia's threatened wildlife.

Here are three of my favourite highlights from the past few months:

• In September we hosted an Indigenous celebration event telling the cultural story of the Lake Wellington area and showcasing recent conservation work.
• Great news from our Grasslands SPA for this spring. We welcome a new addition to our vast and ever growing species list!
• To celebrate the recent Threatened Species Day, we shared some of the work we’ve been doing in the capital region. If you missed it, here’s a summary what we’ve been up to.

Since I was last in touch our Conservation Without Borders project has made fantastic progress.

With the help of hundreds of volunteers we've planted thousands of plants and restored vast areas of land for Australia's threatened wildlife.

Here are three of my favourite stories from the past few months:

• We've launched one of the world's biggest landscape restoration plans. The 'Habitat 141' program covers 18 million hectares of Australia and will be a key focus of Conservation Without Borders over the coming years.
  
  
• We had a close encounter with a very special species - the Southern Brown Bandicoot.
  
  
• Alzheimer's Australia set us a brand new conservation challenge - to involve a younger onset dementia group with our volunteering work. They've made a real contribution to the conservation of Australia's landscapes - and inspired us to think differently about dementia.
