Dear Friends
It is my pleasure to share our third report via Global Giving on the progress of our project to provide computer education to students in Kishanganj district of Bihar.
Azad India Foundation's computer center at village Taiyabpur,Pothia block started functioning from the first week of March.
This is a first computer center functioning in one of the most interior villages of Pothia block of Kishanganj. More than half of those enrolled are girls who study in near by government schools in class VIII and above. The computer teacher is also from the community so that it becomes easier for the students to gain confidence. “ I am very happy to teach computer application to the young children” says Saheb who feels that getting an opportunity in a village is a privilege very few people get.
Our first batch of 40 students enrolled for the Basic Computer Application course appeared for their assessment in the last week of May. NIIT Foundation did the assessment that included project and viva. The successful students will receive certificates. We have already started enrolling second batch of the students.
Azad India Foundation is really thankful to all the donors and Global Giving for providing these young students with an option to learn IT and keep pace with changing times.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions, comments or ideas at aif_org@yahoo.co.in
Warm Regards,
Yuman
